School Re-Opening Update

School Re-Opening Update

This past Tuesday, August 25th, San Diego County released a statement saying that schools can reopen as of September 1st. The public health order does not require schools to reopen September 1st but leaves it up to school districts to decide independently.

Some parents mentioned they received a message from the San Diego Unified School District stating that on-site appointment based learning could occur within a short period of time. The district has acknowledged this was a miscommunication.

As of today, SDUSD secondary guidelines have not changed. We will continue with our plans to begin the school year online until it is determined safe to return to on-site learning. SDUSD is working in collaboration with health experts from the University of California, San Diego to determine when it is safe for students to return to on-site learning. It will be through this collaboration that a decision will be made.
