Preparing For 2021-22!

5th and 6th grade orientation is scheduled for Friday, August 27th. Additional information about the 2021-22 school year including dates and times for incoming 5th grade and 6th grade orientation will be distributed to families over the summer. Visit the school website for more information.

Incoming parents frequently ask “What can I do to prepare my student for next year?” We recommend parents follow these tips over the summer break;

  • Enhance your love of reading - Reading is a skill that strengthens the mind, improves vocabulary, and promotes the value of intellect. It is important for teachers, parents, and other adults to model the love of reading. Reading doesn’t have to be a burden. Click this link to learn more.
  • Support Social Emotional Well Being - Socio Emotional skills are the skills we rely upon to help us cope with everyday emotions, stress, relationships. The more we have a chance to practice these skills, the more comfortable, confident and competent we become to use them in different situations. • Promote Student Independence - Allow children to make choices. Support growth and new challenges by scaffolding and practicing new skills. Let children solve problems on their own. Every child encounters failure at some point so let children struggle (safely). At the end of the day your child should be tired….not you! Click here for more information.
