What is PowerSchool?
PowerSchool is a web-based tool that enhances communication between parents, teachers and students by providing access to student information from home, work, or from any remote location with Internet access. Parents can view:

  • Student schedules
  • Attendance data
  • Homework assignment scores.
  • Report cards and progress report

PowerSchool allows parents to view scores for assignments already turned in. Parents and students should use Moodle to view upcoming assignments and projects. Please follow this link to learn more about Moodle.

What is the difference between PowerSchool and ParentConnection? Will my ParentConnection login work with PowerSchool?

ParentConnection is a web-portal application associated with the Zangle student information system. San Diego Unified has migrated to PowerSchool for the 2013-14 school year. Your ParentConnection login will not work with PowerSchool.

What do I need to login?

Parents need a personal identification number (pin) and password to access PowerSchool. Dana Middle will mails a pin and password to all families during the first week of October.

I forgot my password. What should I do?
Unfortunately Mrs. Kirkendall, the site technician responsible for managing parents accounts on the PowerSchool parent portal, received a promotion and we are patiently waiting for the SDUSD Human Resources Department to fill the vacant position.

Fortunately we have a solution you can immediately use to view grades recorded in your child's teacher gradebook. Parents do not need to create an account to view student information. Simply follow the steps below:

  • Login to the powerschool portal at https://powerschool.sandi.net/public/
  • Enter your child's username and password. Your child's username is their student ID number. Your child's password was distributed to students during the second week of school during their Language Arts classroom.

Please remember that academic grade information in PowerSchool is manually entered by teachers. Please allow one to two weeks for entry of data. Please rely upon your child's planner to find information related to homework and upcoming events.
