Vice Principal Update - Input On Position Criteria Requested

Vice Principal Michelle Perkins has made the decision to resign from her position as Vice Principal effective June 17, 2022. Please see below for an excerpt from a letter distributed to staff.

I have made the decision to prioritize my family over career while my child is still young. While I am looking forward to spending more time with my family, I will miss working with each of you. I have enjoyed my time at Dana and am especially grateful to have met each of you.

We have begun the process of hiring a new Vice Principal. All stakeholders (staff, parents/guardians and community members) are invited to provide input. NOTE: Our district recently changed the Vice Principal job title to Associate Principal.

Please complete our google form by Monday, June 6, 2022. Stakeholder input will be used in generating a site criteria list. The tentative date for board approval of the position is Tuesday, June 28, 2022. Thank you.

Clear Your Bookshelves And Donates Unwanted Books to Book Flood

May 31st through June 3rd - Spring clean your bookshelves and donate your unwanted books for a good cause! Dana Middle School is holding a Book Flood to benefit Literacy for San Diego.

Literacy for San Diego’s mission is to unite the community to support literacy. Donated books should be brought into students’ PERIOD 1 class, they should be middle school appropriate, and in relatively good condition - meaning no ripped pages or writing in the book!  If we get enough books, we may let English teachers pick books for their classrooms too, so make sure to donate! Thank you!
